I'm a junior in high school, and I've scored high enough on my ACT (26) to get into all of the colleges I want to attend. So, should I apply this year? It wait until the end of my junior year? I've already done the college tours & I'm 99% sure of where I want to go.

Depends… where? Id Just wait till next year like everyone else

If you apply this year, won’t you be applying for the 2013-2014 school year? And won’t you still be in high school by then?

Actually, I was told by Southern University to apply this year and to check the “entering fall 2014” option on the application. But southern isn’t one of my top choices so I was wondering if other colleges had that option.

The vast majority of colleges won’t let you apply 2 years ahead of time… and you really should just finish your high school years. You might not have the coursework to enter college yet either.

Hold off. Why would you want to short yourself out like that? You won’t be able to give them all you extracurriculars, honors/awards, etc. You won’t be able to send them your transcript until years down the line so why do it now? Hold off and better your application

You may say you’re 99% sure, but, hey, things change over a year and a half.

Exactly. If you asked me (I’m sure this applies to plenty of people on CC as well) where I wanted to go junior year, I’d have a much different answer than I do now. Keep your options open and remember your ACT score can only go up (maturity/familiarizing yourself with the test)

… and I’m a senior who hasn’t officially applied anywhere yet.

seriously though, what you want to do next year will probably be very different from what you want now. I didn’t believe that as a junior (I was a very firm believer in rigid planning that could only be deviated from slightly- a bit naive really) but I get it now. A LOT changes in people during high school
