Gap body has some nice minibras you might like. They’re almost like sports bras but nowhere near as squishing. Also, you know there are bras without underwiring…IMO, it is one step too far not to wear a bra to class. And this is from someone who routinely wears boxers and a large shirt the whole day on weekends.

People at my school seemed to dress up a little more when it was warmer out. As it’s gotten colder, you see more sweats and jeans.

I’ve only worn sweats to class once…and that was because everyone in my dorm was supposed to wear pink that day, so I wore my PINK brand stuff. I wear jeans, but also will wear skirts and dresses, or dress pants and nicer shirts.

I get that a lot too.

What about yoga pants…I hate it when ppl wear leggings as pants is it just high schoolers that do that

^ so many people wear leggings as pants at my school, very common with sorority girls as they’re considered less sloppy than sweats

^^ I like the song “natural diaster”-plain white t’s

I always thought legging looked lazy\slutty

i know some girls who actually look really cute in sweatpants, dunno what it is.

I think I might go to a CC but obviously there’s no place to live on campus so id have to get there by public transportation and I like to look nice when I’m out in public not wear make up and hair done but presentable.Do people dress like they don’t care at community colleges?

Yeah, yoga pants seem really popular. I sincerely doubt most of the girls have even tried yoga, but the pants are a common fad.

I like to put a little effort into my clothing because I feel like showing up in PJs or pj-equivalents (yoga pants, sweats, leggings in some cases) is disrespectful to my professors. It might be different in big lecture halls, but at a small school with small classes, I know they are noticing me, and I don’t want to come off as lazy or a slob. Pjs/yoga pants/sweats do not leave the dorm for me.

Part of it is also that I bought and brought all of these cute clothes, why shouldn’t I wear them?

I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt to class, but maybe like once a week I feel like being comfy and wear yoga pants and a shirt.

depends on the school for sure. At the college I’ll be attending, people dress up way more than at a typical college, but that has more to do with the professional city-atmosphere and students doing internships wearing suits than anything else

What city is this where there’s a professional atmosphere?

Honestly, just dress the way you want. Even if someone DOES care, it only matters what you think about the way you look.

I am a bit more formal in my appearance than others. I would never venture outside in pajamas and I wear a bit of eyeliner most days. Sometimes, I don’t even like wearing light blue jeans because they look too informal to me (I wear really dark jeans or trousers).

But I dress how I want not because I care what others think of me, but because it makes ME feel good.

Dress how you want to make yourself feel good and ***** other people’s opinions. It’s none of their business.

Washington is infamous for not being particularly fashionable compared to other cities (I should know, I’ve lived in/around for 17 years lol), so I’m a bit surprised by that.

I live in cali and plan to go to school there…I think it depends if you go to norcal or socal because its hotter in southern california

You’re right, I would definitely not call Washington “fashionable”, compared to more cultural cities like NYC or Montreal. Visiting campus twice though… I’ve never seen more students in suits, or just generally dressed up. Maybe it’s just the big internship scene that makes it like that, not the city?

This is exactly what I was going to say. Even at a school that’s relatively well-known for people being on the dressier side (I have literally never seen someone wear pj pants to class. Yoga pants/leggings often; sweatpants, rarely), I dress up because I want to, not because I think I should. I wear makeup daily – not a lot, just eyeliner and mascara – because I personally want to, not because I care about people seeing me without it.

I also just like dressing up because then class feels more like a job to me, so I take it more seriously. It’s not too hard to do. In the same time it would take me to find a pair of sweatpants, I can easily put on a dress and look much more presentable. Especially since sometimes I’ll have unexpected meetings with professors or my advisor in the middle of the day, so it’s nice knowing that I look more prepared for that.

That being said, I will also be the first to wear nike shorts and a nice oversized t-shirt if I have a late night the night before and/or if I oversleep my alarm.
