in more preppy high schools or private schools, i know a lot of girls would always dress nicely with high fashion and usually have the latest styles. is this so in college? you'd think that after the first days of your freshman year no one care and it'd be too much of a hassle. does it vary by schools tho?

just wear what you want to wear. i'm famous for going to class in my pajamas. i'm the one who you'll see in her pj's one day, a skirt the next, jeans for a day, then back to pj's again. just wear what's comfortable.... but don't forget to dress nice for presentations and such..

i was thinking about doing that, but then, i mean, u can't ignore that image does play a big part even if it's a pain in the a**. so im probably gonna wear jeans and a nice simple top everyday, but i'm not sure...ill start doing the pj thing around x-mas time...screw appearance, hopefully people like me for who i am lol...

i dunno, i had hundreds of friends at school. if they don't like me in my pj's, i probably don't want to be their friend anyway.. cause that's my thing :)

haha that's good to know lol...

well, im a guy and i always have to stay fitted. top to bottom with sneakers that match my clothes. and i definetly like girls who try to dress nice.

I always wear a polo shirt, khaki shorts or jeans, and either flip flops or nice shoes (white sneakers for shorts and brown Rockports with pants).

I'm not afraid to spend my extra cash on clothes, and generally will. I might be stuck in 1978 in some respects (my stereo for example) but I'm always on top of things fashion wise. I recommend all guys become metrosexuals because girls like guys who dress nice.

I don't mind looking like a bum once every few weeks, but I feel better about myself on days when I look halfway decent.

imo girls should take the time to dress up. its not pleasant to watch all these girls with their sweatshirts, sweats, and flip flops and no makeup walking around (with guys, its okay though). then again you shouldnt care what guys think.

I plan on wearing what I do now when I go to college. Jeans w/ polo shirts, t-shirts. If I'm sick or something, that would excuse me to look like a bum, but otherwise I'd just dress like I usually do.

I'll probably wear nice jeans and shirts most days, sometimes skirts, but I'm sure I'll wear sweats or pajamas after a while. I live in sweats on the weekends. I'm in my favorite plaid pajama pants right now and I'll be sure to bring them them with me! My brother says a lot of guys don't like skirts and they like girls in casual pants......but he's only one guy and he likes one girl.

I'm going with the "wear whats comfortable" opinion. People all have their opinions on whats cool and whats not. If you "dress to impress", you won't impress everyone, because not everyone has the same opinion of "impressive". I personally prefer a girl who wears casual clothes over one who takes hours to wake up in the morning to get ready for a 90 minute class. It speaks more to the lifestyle I prefer I guess, I'll take a laid-back chick to be friends with over a high maitinence individual.

Oh and for the record, I went to a prep high school and am now at community college, so I've seen my fair share of both worlds of dress...

My philosophy has always been wear what you feel hot in. And if you feel hot in your pajamas (and some people are), so be it. I find that feeling good about yourself in whatever you're wearing gives you confidence and makes you seem more approachable. In my experience (at a very preppy highschool!), first impressions are just that: first impressions. Everyone I know who can hold a funny, interesting conversation with a wide range of people is popular with just about any group. And those who dress to impress but can't do that are usually not so lucky.

msf, yea confidence is kinda big. so i guess ill just keep wearing normal clothes unless i feel sick some day. but i dont know bcuz from the school i come from image is a HUGE deal so i guess im kinda used to it. well hopefully that'll change...i hateddddd our high school "wardrobes"

I would so wear pjs in college and flip flops if I could.

why can't you?

I reckon they have a dress code in the US Naval Academy...

basically the pressure that's been put onto me in my high school. but college is so different and i'm sure that many students will not worry about it half as much.

In my experience...

High school is a totally different ballgame than college. FOR THE MOST PART, there isnt much "cliqueiness" in college. Most high school kids have all grown up in the same area, with the same people so expectations are obviously going to be placed. College is like a melting pot of cultures and lifestyles where you have to go with an open mind, because if you are judgemental, people will shut you out.

yeay that makes me happy. :D
