Is it true that state-administered ACTs are easier or have a better curve?

I've heard rumors about this, but I don't know if it's true. Taking it tomorrow..

Yeah they are, at least in my opinion. I got my highest score out of the three times I took it when I took the state-administered one. I’m pretty sure there’s a reason why and I’m sure I knew it at one point, but I don’t anymore.

It should not be, however, there many be more students getting higher scores. Imagine a student that has already received a satisfactory score may not take another round of ACT but is forced to take the mandated one. The curve is pre-set prior to the test and is not adjusted based on the students registered for the test. The mandated test is usually held in second semester of junior year while a regular test would have freshmen, sophomores, and juniors plus a small fraction of seniors. There is a significant difference in the average readiness for the test between the candidates for a regular and a state mandated ACT test.

Ahhh, thanks for clarifying. I took it! Really want to see my score now though… :/

I hope so!!! I took it today and blew it on the science section. I’m so upset. But hopefully the Math will save me.

Do you live in Michigan?

I live in North Carolina!

i take it on the 18th… hope it’s easy

A handful of states have it this one and some others later this month. Those taking it this week should be the same test.

the 18th won’t be the same test right… don’t want to take a test about the impossible robot squirrel :((

No, the March 18 test should be different from the one this week.

I took the ACT this past week… which one was the robot squirrel??? Was that the one with the full body diagram of the squirrel?

Lol I took the one on the 4th in school but which section was the robot squirrel one in? Science? Hmm idk science wasnt hard but thats cuz I’ve been doing too many practice science sections xD (I sucked before).

My Michigan D took it this week. She said she thinks she did better than the February one.

When do you all think results will come in the mail? 5-8 weeks as said? Or sooner?

@Awflapjackz I think you can check your multiple choice scores online 2 and 1/2 weeks after you took the test

@hassanbazzi

Sadly, it looks like that isn’t true

From: <a href=“ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT”>ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT;

Utah (or at least my HS) took the ACT on the 4th with the robot squirrel. The instructor said 3-8 weeks.

I think 2.5 weeks sounds about right. It was 19 days after the test last year for my D.

So, we have to wait to get the results in the mail.
I won’t be able to find them online earlier? Did I read that correctly?
