is it true

as has been stated before by others, the playing field, in my opinion, shouldn't have anything to do with race but with the individual child's upbringing (ie middle class blacks's should be on the exact same playing field as middle class white's, asians, etc).

and if you're going to discredit the report jags posted then back it up.

Indiana Jones, your ignorance continues to astound me. If you have ever been to a public high school with an equal number of underprivileged blacks and whites, you would see the the amount of racism from BLACKS to WHITES FAR outnumbers the traditional racism. Have you ever been a subject of gang violence because your an intelligent white student? Have you ever been spit on because you are white? have you ever had food thrown at you because your WHITE? have you even been pushed shoved, stepped on and picked on because your WHITE? No, you haven't. But guess what: that kind of **** is a DAILY experience for me and all of my (white) friends, none of whom even talk to the people that treat us this way.

Making up for what? They aren't making up for anything, there is so much black on white racism today that you people want to pretend doesn't exist. You can keep pretending that your making up for lost time by letting someone who had to fight to votes kid's into a school easier, but your not, because they make up for it themselves. You can keep pretending that there isn't as much anti-white racism as there is anti-black racism (or MORE, MUCH MORE where I am from) but your only lying to yourself.

No sir, you, my friend, make me very very sad. You haven't been through all the crap I have been through for being white, and if you are black and have experienced similar racism, I do feel deeply sorry for you as you know how much it hurts.

But to think that it doesn't happen to other people, thats just wrong. To imagine that your making up for something is just as wrong as well. I can understand giving someone from a low economic status a helping hand, but to base it solely on race is a terrible thing. And to assume that all people of a certain race come from a certain economic status is just as racist (I am not saying you do that, but I have seen it done).

I have, not my experience. I'm sorry that your atmosphere is so racially charged but this a generalization.

Racial tension is rarely one-sided and there is no doubt that certain minority groups are disadvantaged in our society.

well thats exactly my point. Its never as one sided as Jones tries to make it seem, and no matter how hard he tries to pretend that they are making up for something, they aren't. Racial conflicts are not one sided, theres nothing "black and white" pardon the pun about this issue
