Is it unwise to only apply to business schools? (for undergrad)

I am a rising high school senior and am currently trying to finalize my college list. At the moment, I am certain that I want to study business.

Do you guys think it would be better for me to include apply to the College of Arts & Sciences at one or two places as well, in case I change my mind about my major come April 2016? Or should I just apply to business programs for now and attempt an internal transfer during college if ai change my mind?

The freshman year curriculum in a business school is mostly arts and sciences courses anyway: psychology, economics, calculus etc. plus one or 2 intro business classes. It can be difficult to transfer from A&S to Business at some schools e.g. NYU.

I always hear about how difficult it is to transfer from CAS to Stern (or the equivalent at other places) but is transferring from a business school to the Arts & Sciences school considered significantly less difficult?

Generally, yes.

The typos in my first post are bugging me:

Better safe than sorry I guess. I’ll just apply to CAS at one or two schools in case I suddenly decide I want to major in political science/economics again.

It is normally easy to switch out of a business program and difficult to switch into one. If you have any inkling that you may want to major in business I’d start in a business program and take a few introductory courses and then decide.

In addition, if you get accepted into a business program and decide you are 100% sure you are not interested in a business major chances are very strong that you would be able to call admissions and ask to flip your admission to the liberal arts school.
