It pains me to read that Brown is not need-blind for internationals, as when looking at all of these universities it stands out to me as the one I would most enjoy studying at (well, tied with Yale). Since I need a considerable amount of aid as an international from the UK, I’m beginning to wonder whether it is worth me applying…

My stats:

SAT I - 2270; 800CR, 700M, 770W
SAT II - 800 Lit, 770 Bio-E, 740 French w/ Listening
ECs: Average in the US but good compared to most UK students
Essays: Common App superb, haven’t written supplement
Hooks: Varied & interesting cultural heritage, 1st gen college

I wrote Brown off completely due to the financial aid situation but now as I submit my apps for the other US colleges I can’t help thinking about it. The $70 app fee isn’t cheap for me, but not expensive enough that I would submit a waiver, especially with their finaid policies.

Maybe since the aid is so limited for internationals, I’d be one of the few applicants for it as others are discouraged? Probably wishful thinking…

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated. I’m quite torn here :(
