So I have a 1520 SAT ( 790 Math 730 R/W 20 Essay) and a low 34 ACT (34 english 34 math 33 Reading 33 Science 10 Essay).
I was told initially by guidance counselor/ people around me to submit both, as they’re “equivalent”. But the more I look at it, the more I feel as if the SAT score is better. What do you guys think? Besides, if I don’t send both, I save money.
Any advice is appreciated!
anyone?
run the concordance tables. And some schools will not need sat subject tests (if they recommend the) if you send ACTs. 34 is not “low”.
@jym626 by low 34 I meant that the scores averaged to 33.5, not the score itself being low. Sorry if it came out in that way.
I am not an adcom, but I doubt many adcoms would calculate the 33.5 to look at it as “inferior” to the 34. In addition, checking the concordance table https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/higher-ed-brief-sat-concordance.pdf I think 34 puts you in the range of 1520 to 1550, hence if it were me, I will submit both, but if you were concern with the money, therefore, you may skip it. It is difficult to say whether it is “worth” sending.
