So I have a school I committed to, but I have to ask a question. I know Cornell has the freshman transfer option, and that was my first choice school. Is there any way I could contact admissions and inquire about it. My grades have raised significantly, and I have an amazing internship at the UN. Is it possible to do this? I have nothing to lose.
You have nothing to lose by calling and asking so 100% go for it. I have a feeling they might just welcome you to apply for a regular transfer.
Imho, you will just be wasting time calling and asking to appeal your decision. The admissions office is probably busy dealing with Transfer applications, finalizing this year’s class, the waitlist, etc. The TO is something that is given to you—not something that you ask for, so I don’t see the need to bother them by calling. Don’t waste your time. Enjoy your senior year! Go to your committed school, take Cornell out of your mind, and transfer next year if you think Cornell is still the right fit for you. I know this sucks, but it is what it is.
