I am referring to colleges like Stanford or Carnage Mellon School of Computer Science which want to see all scores available but say they put the most weight to the highest one. My interpretation of that is they sorta super score but they still judge you.
My problem is this:
September: 30E, 34M, 35R, 31S (32.5)
December: 35E, 32M, 30R, 28S (31.25)
Super: 35E, 34M, 35R, 31S (33.75)
So for schools that super score by computer I am doing great! However I am wondering if I should even apply to schools like Stanford and Carnegie Mellon anymore. For Stanford my understanding is that the stats are fine to have a decent chance to get in even if I sent the 33. Carnegie Mellon SCS is the hardest school to get into that I have seen. Both their 25th and 75th percentiles are 35. I am rather inadequate. However even with my 33 I was going to give it a shot, but now I have a downward score trend and a 28 in science (the very subject I hope to study).
I am not even going to try and justify what happened on the December test because I really don’t know. I spent the week studying English because that was my main target and about 3 hours on the other subjects. The only good thing I can say about my performance is I am pretty sure colleges put a bit more weight on E and M compared to R and S.
Should I even bother with schools that still consider the lower score?
