Is it worth retaking a score in the range of 2300-2350?

I am seriously not sure if I should retake or if I should keep my score and be content.
I got a 2330 this October and am a Junior so I have a lot of time to think about it.
Here's my Breakdown-
M:800
W:780
CR:750

What should I do? I am loaded with extra curricular activities(although not sports) and community service, but i really wanted that 2350. Your advice would be really helpful.

I got a 2340 my junior year and I didn't bother to retake. It's not going to help you get into your "dream school" anymore than a 2400 will and, quite frankly, your odds of going down are much greater than your odds of going up.

Just let it go. You beat 99.7% of the country; what more do you want?

You're joking right?
Go eat a banana or something. Stop studying for the SAT's.

thanks to score choice, there's really no pressure with the retake. it can only help you. if you think you can actually improve then you can take it again. it's not against the law to retake a 2300(although a lot of people will look at you funny ;))

unless a specific scholarship requires a higher score, don't.

Schools really don't care if you have a 2330 or a 2400. On top of that, reading is by far the hardest to improve when you are already in the 700s.

Thanks so much for all the people who are giving me their input. And for the record, I did eat a banana today Zen. I think that I will only retake If i see a certain i scholarship i need the 2350 to qualify for.

Go eat two bananas.

If you are asian and are interested in H/P/Y you might want to
retake. just a thought.

i think you should sit down, thank God that you scored better than 99.8 percent of the country, and then maybe hang out with a friend.

gosh, if i had your scores i would never ever want anything better, i promise you

Autrizzle, Arachnotron,

Couple questions for both of you:

1) How many times did you take SAT1 before getting the score > 2300
2) My son, HS sophomore (only 14 years old), got 2180 (CR=690, Math=780, WR=710) on Oct SAT1 test. Any tips/books that you recommend for him to improve his CR & WR.

Thanks,

Unless you are very confident you can get 2400 on your next try (and the statistics are against you), don't.

@ lnguye02: I took it twice. Once in my sophomore year and once in my junior year. Practicing with blue book questions helps.

I got 2400 the first time i took it sophomore year.

No. your scores are fine.

For Inguye02, this is my first time taking the SAT. I'm a junior. Uuum, essentially I started the summer at about the same score at 2150. I took the Princeton Review SAT Honors class. I had an awesome instructor so I got lucky. The main thing that the classes do is motivate the students to actually sit down and study. I did the blue book, read as much as I could (made my parents get a subscription of the NY Times), and then I also went through my friend's "Elite" flashcards. Seeing that you are in California, there should be an Elite center around you. This worked for me. Hope that helps. Your son did pretty well for a sophomore. Good Luck.
