I have a UC essay and a common app essay that I want a specific literature teacher to read.
But here’s there thing, I was her most useless piece of shit student.
I had her for AP Language and Composition last year and barely got by with a C in that class.
She tried so hard to help me on the weekly essays and even asked me to stay after school many times so she could help me. I did go meet with her and worked on my grades many times, but I never gave any effort. If I had given 100% instead of 5% of my energy and dedication, I could have easily gotten an A in her class.
Compared to the other teachers in the school, she was the most caring, thoughtful, and truly genuine with her intentions as a teacher. I honestly do regret not trying in her class. If I had the opportunity to rewrite history, I would retake her class in a heartbeat and make her proud.
I never told her of my personal problems(depression/can’t find purpose in life/only death awaits for us all/stuff like that), so right now I believe she has a negative image of me as her student.
Knowing this short backstory of mine… should I or should I not ask her for her help?
I can give more information if necessary, but I think you guys get the point…
