I have a friend who wants to major in political science at a selective college close to DC. Johns Hopkins is selective and fairly close to DC, but to me it has the connotation of being a good school for med/pre-med, not the humanities. Am I mistaken?
You are mistaken. Johns Hopkins has a great reputation in the sciences, but it is also a strong school overall.
Well, it is one of the leading IR universities in the US…is that good enough for you?
(but why not GW, Georgetown or American- which are all in DC?)
Those are being considered too, but I didn’t mention them here because I’m merely seeking info on JHU’s strength in poli sci/humanities in general.
Roughly 1/3 of students at JHU are non-STEM majors, and the school is known for its fantastic IR and creative writing programs. Yes, you’re mistaken.
