Is JSA summer school worth it?

The main reason why I'm even considering doing this is because if I want to have a chance to apply to a good school, I need another SAT 2. My plan is to take AP US history at Princeton, but I'm hesitant because it's expensive and I've heard that the it doesn't look good on applications because of the cost. Any suggestions on what to do? If I don't do this, I'd take the foreign language SAT 2, but I don't think I would do too well. My counsoler says that the class would count on my transcript if I were to take it (assuming that the principal OKs it-haven't been able to track him down yet), so then I wouldn't have to take APUSH senior year anyways.

My D did JSA but not for a test, but becuase she loved the program

Its not easy, there are papers to write, etc....so don't do a program for a test...do it because you like the program

I did it.

I didn't do it for college; the program was amazingly, quite easily the best three weeks of my life.

You could do a lot more with the money that you would pay for JSA summer school. Say, go to a foreign country.

You could always take a city college course in US history.

JSA is a truly amazing program. Yes sometimes the work load can get very very heavy. I attended the JSA summer school at Princeton 2005. After I had come home, I started the first JSA/politics club at our school, which has since then become my most worthwhile EC (and ultimately helped my admission into college). Yes, money is an issue, but it's all worth it. Unlike other summer schools, JSA is a very respected program nation wide. Two of my roommates at JSA Princeton all got into ivies later that year (1 princeton ED, another's a Harvard EA). Overall, the JSA student body has lots of potential. Oh yeah, I also met one of my best life long friends at JSA princeton.

I wouldn't take the class for just the SAT 2. If I took this in the summer, I wouldn't have to take it next year and APUSH is one of the hardest classes at my school; it would also free up my schedule and let me take another AP.
Does anyone think that I could get >750 on the US SAT 2 if I just read a prep book over the summer? (don't forget that I've only taken civics and AP govt and politics)
