I'm for sure taking the SAT in May, but what I haven't been completely set on is when I'm taking it for the first time. I was thinking I'd do it in January, but after a bit of thinking, it just doesn't seem too convenient since my high school won't be hosting the test on that date, which means I'll have to drive like an hour away to a different high school just to take it. So, what I wanna basically know is, would it be too late for me to take it in March instead of January, or would it not really matter? It's just weird cause most of the people I've talked to about the SAT are a bit surprised when I say I haven't yet taken it. And I don't wanna fall tooo behind.

I mean, it seems to be a bit late, but it should still be fine. Take it in March to establish a benchmark, and then, if needed, take it in June.

i took it for the first time in june…but since it was after ap season, i had time to study and do well so i dont have to retake it. my friend took it for the first time october of senior year

March is alright to take it for the first time because you still have june and october if you want to retake it.

I know seniors that took it for the first time in October, but that’s definitely wayyy late. Soo, I thinkkkk I’ll probably do it in March then. Anyone think it’s a really bad idea?

I took it for the first time in May, then the second in October, and I was very happy with my scores. :)

If you’re really worried, you do have a lot of time to study between then and now…

I took it in March of this year. Definitely not too late. I could have studied and taken it in June if my ACT score wasn’t so good.
