So the post audition anxiety is kicking in and I was just feeling nervous about my resume. I have done a lot of plays, but also a lot of musicals and two of the schools asked if I enjoyed musical theatre. Do Acting schools not like students who worked in musical theatre?
Most actors do have more musical theater experience - mostly because that is what’s prevalent in schools, in community theater etc. I dont think you need to worry about that.
I completely agree- BFA programs are certainly going to be aware that lots of performers have experience in straight plays and musicals- nothing to worry about
Agree 100% with the above responses and also want to emphasize that in general, you aren’t being judged by your resume. I don’t believe any program would base a decision on the contents of your resume.
I hope your anxiety ends soon and your results are good!
Both of my children had extensive music theatre experience and both were accepted in multiple BFA in theatre programs…no worries!!
