Is my 33 ACT adequate for ivies/mit/stanford with hooks?

I got a 33 ACT (35E, 33M, 31R, 33S) on my last take for colleges, and I’m worried that this will negatively impact my application. My SAT subject test scores are 790 for Math 2 and 800 for Bio, and I have a lowish income (55k for 6 people) and I’m first generation. I’ve been told that my EC/awards/essays are strong but is my 33 something to worry about? I’m not leveraging my grades as a strength anyways because they’re pretty average overall (3.9 UW, 4.04 W but I’m an IB Diploma Candidate with only two Bs in high school). I don’t expect to be admitted for stellar grades.
So should I worry about my ACT negatively impacting my application?

I’m admittedly not as familiar with ACT scaling, but I think a 33 is fine for Ivies. They really just want to see that you are academically capable, and if you think your other academic accomplishments highlight such, than you should be more than fine. I really don’t think they are expecting perfect scores.
That being said, keep in mind the job isn’t necessarily to be the best applicant, just to be better than your competition. There WILL be people with higher test scores admitted, and you will have to prove in your application that you can contribute to the school in a unique way. Best of luck

Daughter applied to four with a 33, wait-listed at one (Cornell) admitted to three (Brown, Harvard, Yale). From the tables I have seen a 33 composite puts you in the 99th percentile. If you want something to worry about, worry about those low acceptance rates. You are a great candidate for some fine schools, don’t fixate on the Ivies.

I’m not seeing any hooks. First gen is kind of a meh hook; low income is not a hook. Regardless, they would be superseded by the fact that you’re Indian.

But if you get rejected, it won’t be the result of a 33; it’s because these schools have single-digit acceptance rates. Your stats are certainly competitive. Make sure you have some safeties. Good luck

It takes much more than stats to qualify for this level of colleges. Rigor matters, as do ECs. Then, your understanding of what they want to see in you/attributes, your thinking, how you present in the app and supps. Take a look into how holistic admissions works (not blogs or forums.) Assiming you want to pursue stem, but want to tell us your ECs? And at least vaguely where you live?

It will matter what the B grades are in. Any AP scores.
