Is my ACT good enough?

Composite: 31 (31E, 31M, 25R, 35S, 10 essay)
Superscore: 31 (31E, 33M, 26R, 35S, 11 essay)

Before you comment about my lower reading score, I don't think there is much I can do to improve it. I have taken a speed reading course, I read more books, and I took all the tests from the red book and 1296 ACT questions. I have a 4.0 GPA, and english has never been a problem for me, just the ACT reading too time limited and I really like to put thought into anything I read. English isn't my second language, and I know how to write and analyze pieces well.. just not quickly.

I am extremely happy with my composite score, but will my reading score hurt me in admissions? Or will admissions officers be able to look past it and read the rest of my application and my essay which I have put countless hours into?

What colleges are you applying to? It’s a great score in general, but for HYPMS… Who knows?

I’ll be applying to: UChicago, Cornell, Duke, Haverford, USC, Northeastern, Tufts, Dartmouth, Emory, and Stanford. I’ve already gotten into my state’s flagship school as my safety.

I think it won’t hurt you chances of admissions, especially since your other scores (math in particular) are great, and a 31 composite is a very good score. Also it depends where you’re applying.I know what you mean with the Reading though, I always scored poorly on that portion and there’s really no way to improve your reading skills in a timely manner.
