Is a 32 ACT high enough to get into UC Berkeley and UCLA?
Here is the admitted student profile for UCLA for 2014. This report is the latests data available. Over 30 seems to cut it. DO you live in state?
Getting into UCLA/UCB will not just be based on your ACT score. You are on target with your ACT of 32 but you alos need a high GPA, rigorous HS schedule, excellent essays and outstanding EC’s. You need the whole package to be a competitive applicant.
Yes I live in state and I do have a strong GPA and pretty strong extracurriculars but I am contemplating whether or not I should really focus on getting a higher SAT or ACT score or if I should focus on my essays and application. Thank you for you help!
A 32 ACT and a strong high school record makes you an extremely competitive applicant; after all, the UC’s base much of their decision on those two factors.

I would not retest, and work on the other aspects of your application
