I regrettably didn't include my personal struggles or hardships in my UC app, I have no idea why I didn't do so. So here's what I plan to add in my appeal:

-In my freshman and soph year of high school I was bullied which caused a slip in my grades. I will explain how I had to cope and overcome this challenge.

-(A lack of AP/IB classes probably resulted in my rejection) My English teacher sophomore year was responsible for assigning our English classes next school year, but he opted to give me college prep classes instead of AP/IB classes. I signed up for honors History, but due to limited seats I wasn't able to get a spot in the classes (my only honors classes in junior and senior year was science).

-In junior year my house was burglarized, and thieves stole literally everything (which included my laptop which had all my family pictures and essays), and it robbed my family of security. I will explain how overcame this and how my grades dipped because of this.

If it is NEW and compelling evidence, you might have a shot. But even, then it is a slim shot. The examples you described weren’t that bad and personally wouldn’t affect me at all, but hey, I’ve never had that happen so i don’t know. Seems more like excuses to me. Even if you get considered off the wait list, you are highly under qualified for UCLA. I was coming in with a half ass attitude of a 4.2 weighted UC GPA and a 1780 SAT and I was very under qualified (ultimately rank and SAT kept me out). If you’re so intent in trying to go to UCLA, you can try, but it’s hard enough as it is to even consider an application for an appeal. As good as UCLA is, just remember that there are other capable UCs. A college doesn’t guarantee success.
So just keep at it and don’t get bent over not getting in. Good luck.

Like I said, don’t beat yourself too much about not getting into your dream school. I never really thought about which college I wanted to go and UCLA was a pretty good school. I got waitlisted and immediately turned down their offer. Wasn’t going to waste my time trying to get in. Will be going to UCSD and honestly, the UCSD lifestyle better suits me (except for their lack of D1 sports That’s the only thing i’m going to miss). Just try hard in college and always try to improve. Once again, good luck and I will guarantee you that after 2 months at the college you end up, you won’t regret it and won’t even think about UCLA anymore.

Not possible. You must first display to them that you’re a competitive applicant and your scores already killed that possibility. Your SAT and ACT scores are below par and also you display no good EC. Key club is too common and most admissions just write it off and asian club, no comment. Your appeal letter would in fact just be a pity letter. Idk why I typed this but that’s reality for you =/. If UCLA really is your so called “dream” school, your best bet would be going to a cc for two years and hope to transfer over seeing how transfer rates are pretty high.
