Is my essay too risky?

I just started my common application essay. Everyone has been telling me to choose the diversity question and write about where I'm from and how i've overcome adversity and prejudices. problem is i've never experienced any prejudices and everyone told me to lie about it so basically i wrote my essay on the first option (the ethical dilemma question) and how i decided not to make up some false sob story. Its an excellent essay in my opinion i'm just worried if its bad that i'm admitting to having thought about lying to the admissions office about my life story. Please help i'm freaking out!!!

I would say scrap that essay and start over. You have soooo much to offer when it comes to admissions to colleges, that last thing you want to do is waste the opportunity to express yourself, for a stupid topic like that.

I think you should look deep inside of you and think of reasons why you deserve to go to school in the US. Write about your religious beliefs, knowledge of another language or culture. That is what sets you apart… not that you thought about lying on your application. This is your opportunity to express yourself in a postive light.
