Is my essays good enough?

<p>I wrote the first essay on common application, which asks to elaborate on an extracurricular.
I wrote about tutoring/mentoring and how I was on the board of the organization. I also incorporated how I did not receive mental or financial support, which is why I want to help underprivileged students by tutoring and mentoring.
Last thing I incorporated was the importance of education and I it was important for me to learn that lesson. </p>

<p>I have 150 words but its over the character limit what do I do and is that a good topic to speak upon? Is it original?</p>
