is my GPA going to kill me? chance please

sorry i don't know how to post correctly =/
i'm kind of stressed out! but if you could chanceme, that'd be great :D

Female Asian, at one of the top private high schools in the country (top five, according to WLJ)
MY GPA ISN'T SO GOOD... I'm planning on applying to HYP, Stanford, Brown, Cornell, Pomona, Berkeley, Amherst
i'm also planning on auditioning or sending a tape to every school (i chose not to just major in music, but my violin teacher thinks i could get into Julliard rather easily)

My GPA is not so good... 3.9 total weighted (frosh and soph years killed me)
3.3 freshman year, 3.6 sophomore year, 4.7 Junior Year

5s on AP Bio, Civ, English, US History, and Calc AB

232 PSAT Sophomore year, 234 Junior year

2320 on SAT I

800s on SAT Korean, Bio, Literature, US History
780 on SAT Math II

Extracurriculars:
-was Concertmaster of three orchestras
-numerous summer festivals
in semi-professional orchestra
1st-3rd place in four competitions
-have had writing published
-editor-in-cheif of yearbook
-member of Model United Nations
- President of World Food Crisis Awareness Club (raising money)

Lingustic Skills:
four years of Spanish in educational setting
fluent in Korean
conversational Japanese
and Chinese (through educational setting... i can read and write Japanese, albeit with a little struggle)

i teach less privileged children two hours a week violin (have been since Sophomore year) and have also volunteered at nursing homes and benefit concerts. I'm a really strong writer (I've started a book... we'll see how it goes :( hahaha) yet i slacked a bit frosh and soph years. The teachers I'm getting recsfrom have a reputation for being amazing rec writers, and I'm planning on getting lessons from professors at colleges I audition at to familiarize myself with the schools/professors and get calls of recommendation to Admissions)

Chance me? :)

This is a little sickening--I have a 3.9! Is my GPA going to kill me!

Please, stop. You're fine. Stop worrying. Go outside and play and have fun.

You're fine, but don't forget to apply to a safety school you like, because seriously, everyone should.

It would help to know where you stand in your class (top X%). But MidWestMom has great advice. Find a safety you are willing to attend.

Your UW GPA is probably only a 3.4-3.5, so the answer is yes, your GPA will kill you. That's not to say you'll get rejected from all of those schools, but having a poor GPA and good SAT scores (and yes, 3.5UW IS poor for those schools) is no better than having a good GPA and poor SAT scores. It seems like your rank is good, however, so you're not totally screwed.

Wrong forum. Good Standardized tests; poop school grades. Thats a tough call for the schools your applying to

The solid trend up is good though.

i'm just worried if my sophomore grades are going to kill me... i'm not very worried about junior year.
and i've seen kids with 5.0s get rejected and kids with a lot of Bs get accepted, so i really don't know what to expect ^^
and my school doesn't give rankings
based on just junior year, i'm definitely in top 10%
but i'm not sure about the entire year? we'll see

thanks for everyone's advice... it helps a lot (dchow... i realize i'm being really freaky/type-A here...sorry)
