So, when I say top schools I mean that my highest reach is brown and I'm also applying to other schools like Emerson in Boston, Tufts, Wesleyan, etc. My situation is a little odd.

For two years of HS, I wasn't very confident in my abilities and I thought I liked science. I took only 4 honors classes(2 yrs of Honors italian and 2 of Honors Science in chem 1 and freshman physics). In Junior year I took all honors and AP except for English, meaning 1 AP (APUSH)and 4 Honors, because I thought I liked political science. However, as a senior I have figured out that I am talented in writing and humanities, and that is what I want to major in. As a senior I am taking 2 AP(Calc AB and English Lit) and 3 Honors that are dual enrollment at my local state school
.
Because of this large increase in rigor, my gpa has also changed on a weird trend.
Freshman: UW 3.1W 3.4
Soph.: UW 3.49 W 3.8
Junior: UW 3.19 W 3.94
Senior 1st Quarter: UW 3.84 W 4.5
Rank is calculated with weight, so I am in the top 10% of my class. (37/378)
Is the upward trend in W GPA and the sharp increase in rigor enough to save me at a school like Brown? They're my absolute first choice. SAT is a superscore 2210 800 CR 690 M 720 W and I have really great essays and great recommendations.

Also, my school offers only 4 APs. I did not take world history ap. The only other AP option is being randomly selected for a study in AP chem or bio.

Without a hook or something that really stands out I think brown is not likely.

Rank is good. Almost all honors or ap? Since you only have 4 ap on offer that will be in the school report. Will your counsellor say you took the most rigorous schedule possible? Your dual enrollment are college honors classes then? I also see Wes and tufts as reachy given the UW gpa. Emerson isn’t as hard to get into. Find more matches in the
LACs. Look at the women’s colleges they are easier to get into compared to equal co Ed quality. Make great essays.

Brown is out of option because of your GPA, and junior one will affect you really bad. Tufts and Wesleyan are reaches , too. Not taking Aps because your school doesn’t have many won’t count against you but UW GPA is still bad.

I would say 100% no for Brown and Tufts. Your GPA is strong but those schools require higher. I am just basing my theory off what I have read and people I know who were rejected/accepted from those colleges. They were the top cohort in my sons school well over 100 average last year. GOOD LUCK!!! I hope I am wrong!!! :)
