Hello everybody,
I recieved a 940 on my SAT score. I thought it was out of 1600 but realized it was out of 2400. Is that not enough for some of the top schools( I am not talking Harvard but maybe MIT or Yale,UPenn.)
SAT breakdown
MATH 340
ENGLISH 290
ENGLISH SECTION II 310
ESSAY 4

My class rank is 19/86. SO i am not that stupid. I am hoping UPENN gives me at least a 18,000 scholarship.

Thanks.

I forgot to say i am a junior starting to apply soon and want to be a pharamacist so UPENN could be a good choice and should i retake the SAT because my guidance counsler said it is not the best he seen but no horrible

Ahraf "what is a superfluous score" is that a good complimant. If my scores are that good may i help you by offering my wonderful tutor. She went to UPenn and said i am a serious contender

EDIT: I'm thinking this thread is meant as a joke...hence my previous response stating that a retake would unnecessary. If this is not, in fact, a joke, then a retake is in order.

Why would i joke because a 940/1600 is good but i would like to find out if 940/2400 is that much worser.why are you like a riddle, why the sarcasm. Is it good or not

any college like my dreams of UPENN or MIT or any college as in Farmer University which my uncle is the dean of admissons is in. BTW i cant find them at the collegeboard website

All right before you close this.....
It was an experiment to see how you guys would treat somebody not as smart as you and crush their dreams.
In 1992 i took the SAT and got a 940/1600. I worked my *** off and got accepted to UPENN after a comunitty college. SO dreams can happen.

but still.
940/1600 is bad, but 940/2400 is completely terrible.
if you really intended the the thread as a test or something, why didn't you use the actual scores that got you accepted?

I agree with TheVeganActress, a 940 on the current SAT is far below average, whereas a 940 on the old SAT is about average. To me that is a significant difference.

ashraf i want to prove that without knowing a person and a post written with more thought in it would you demean a person without really knowing him

I did not demean you. I honestly thought you were joking since anybody with far below average scores should not expect to get such a scholarship.

My scores are considered "good", yet I don't dare think anybody will give me a scholarship.

MIT and Yale are in the same league as Harvard...I'm under the impression you think they're somewhat easier to get into? Re-take the test, with more preparation.
