Hey, I'm currently a sophomore and am planing my classes for next year. I really want to take as many APs since 1) for college and 2) raise my rank which is currently #2 (many of you probably think that's silly). The schedule I have though seems intensely difficult, but what do you guys think?

Junior Year
AP Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP U.S. History
AP English Language and Composition

Yep, that's right. I only have 4 classes that entire year, because our school uses block schedule and those are all year long classes. I'm very math oriented, so AP Calculus will be casual. I'm a Engineering/Mathematics major, so I have to keep AP Calc and Chem. I want to take AP Lang to improve my writing ability, so if I had to drop one, it would probably be APUS. But is this TOO HARD or can I still maintain all high A's?

I don’t think you’ll have trouble since apparently each class will be twice as long as they are at most high schools. You’re not going to be moving very fast.

I know at my school juniors take the most AP classes and the smart kids generally take almost 7 AP classes, so those 4 shouldn’t be too tough. The only one would’ve been Calculus but apparently you’re good at math so that shouldn’t be a problem. Just out of curiosity, is it AB or BC calc?

You’ll be fine. 4 APs is great, especially if its your only 4 classes.
At my school we take 7 classes and it’d be a bit trickier with your schedule, but still manageable.

It probably also depends on your school…at some schools certain AP classes are harder than at other schools. Talk to kids at your school in these classes.
