Is My Senior Year Schedule Difficult Enough?

Right now I'm taking:

AP English
AP Physics C
AP Comparative Gov / AP US Gov
AP Stats
AP BC Calculus

The workload is pretty intense but I feel like more selective colleges might think that taking only 5 classes looks like I'm not working as hard as I could be, even though the workload and content level of these classes is very high. The standard number of classes for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors is 7, and most high achieving seniors take 6 classes, although for others only 3-4 of their classes are AP.

There is still the opportunity to add another class so I would like to know if it would be worth saddling the extra work to help improve my transcript for this year. I'm thinking I would add German 4, which has moderate workload and would be my fourth year of language.

For highly selective colleges that recommend/require 4 years of a single foreign language, that would fill the gap in your schedule.

Your schedule looks pretty rigorous. Can you add an Arts elective, possibly? If you think you can handle German IV comfortably, then you should go ahead with it, but I don’t think most colleges would expect you to have more than five AP classes in your schedule. Many high schools won’t allow students more than that for academic courses, especially at the AP/IB level. My sons had to include free periods in their schedules. Do you have any demanding extracurricular commitments?
