Here’s the prompt: 1. Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively influenced others, helped resolve disputes or contributed to group efforts over time.
On a music forum, I occasionally help people with how to compose with emotion and various topics, and I’ve also hosted music composition collaborations with various people.
It’s a very small form of leadership (if any), but it was the first example of leadership that gave me the confidence that I needed to delve into real-life leadership roles. For years, I had always been too shy and anxious to take real leadership roles because I was afraid of the negative consequences of doing so, which left me frustrated. However, as I gained more experience online, I began to learn just how valuable and good it felt sending my knowledge to others so that they can achieve their goals (and a few other things). I also learned to get over my self-doubt and just take the opportunity to try new roles. As of now, I am a peer tutor, and I plan to become a conductor for my school’s band 2nd semester.
Tbh, I don’t have too much leadership because I’ve only really begun trying to get experience starting from this year. However, I feel as though as minor as my online “leadership” is, it helped me mature and take new opportunities. Even though it’s not an actual real-life role like managing a club, or starting a foundation, and it’s not necessarily the greatest example of leadership, is this still a fine topic to use?
