Is option B only to draw in more application or can u do this and still remain competitive?
My daughter is a freshman at Amherst and she chose Option B. She submitted an essay she’d written in her senior year.
Was this a typical essay or something monumental, like a research paper or something that was submitted for an award?
It was a regular essay that she wrote for her literature class.
thanks!
@Oakcat Hi. Did your daughter submit the optional identity essay ?
yes. still waiting
Sorry for the late reply, I don’t come on CC every day. I asked my daughter and she did not do that optional identity essay. She also said she knows a lot of people who chose option B when they applied.
I have been reading CC for years but will now start to post as my son is now three years into college and we have learned a few things. He did option B when applying almost four years ago. Used a paper from his English Honors class. There was no optional identity essay then!
I realize this is an old thread but wondering if the papers had teacher comments. All the papers my son would want to submit have only a few comments at the end of the paper (I think owing to the fact that all this work was submitted during remote school).
