So, I just signed up for orientation since it was putting a hold onto my account. I was wondering if it was mandatory, since one of my friends who is an alumni at UB told me it wasn't. I would rather not go if I didn't have to, since I would have to have my Dad drive me in the middle of the night from NYC (a 6-8 hour drive) and then he'd have to drive back right away, since the orientation is an extra 100 dollars for him to attend (he doesn't speak english, so it would be a waste of time and money for him to be there).

Also, I couldn't send my immunization form until yesterday, so I am still held from registering from classes. Does anyone know when the last day to register for classes online is? I know classes start on the 27th, so I'm assuming as long as the hold is removed by the 26th I should be fine?

I think (but I’m not sure) there is no more freshman orientation. Are you a transfer student? I think (again I am not sure) the last transfer orientation is on 8/23/12.

I still would like to know if going to the orientation is mandatory, since you are not allowed to register for classes until you sign up for the orientation.

You could call the orientation people toll free at 1-877-434-0665, locally at (716) 645-6125 to see if you could bypass the orientation or not. Have you been advised yet?

Do you know:
the payment due on 8/22,
the moving in is on 8/23-8/24,
the class start on 8/27/12?
