My Gtown Essay (for SFS) is currently 824 words. It is a rough draft...but is that too much and too long?

Someone else wrote another post to this.. and all I can remember is it saying something like if every word is necessary to the whole, than keep it so it doesn't come off flat. My opinion is that every essay can be cut down to reveal a more nuanced and complete piece. Personally, I think you should lose about 100 words, But I do not do admissions. You just don't want it to be so long that it is skimmed instead of read.

^Yeah...upon a second draft I did cut it about 100 words (down to 727). thanks!!

haha I wrote 988 words (plus footnotes) for SFS EA ... and I got accepted! So I don't think any particular number count is law ... you just want to be careful not to repeat yourself, I guess

I wrote 1200 word essay but they had no limitations and I got accepted lol.
