Is Pepperdine really that beautiful?

I know the views of the ocean are gorgeous, but the buildings and the actual campus seem below average to me-though I've never seen it in person. The architecture is so...plain...and a palm tree here or there doesn't exactly make a campus beautiful. Am I missing something? Post any pictures to prove otherwise, please...and not the same overused aerial photo of the campus nestled in the bluffs...I'm not denying that that's beautiful...

I agree with you. The view is unbeatable, no doubt about that. But the buildings are all the same design and same paint job. nothing much to look at there.

I believe, if I remember correctly, the upperclassman and honors housing up the hill is much better architecture wise. And even the freshman dorms are VERY nice inside. And many of the buildings are muchhh more well done inside then the outside leads you to believe.

The entire town of Malibu is quite overrated, IMHO. It's a great place to be if you have a car since it's so easy to get to LA and Santa Monica, which is a great town. From what my cousin says, students hit up the mall in Thousand Oaks for your basic shopping stores

go on flickr and search pepperdine - there you can see personal pictures of the school rather than the aerial views and stuff

Beauty is subjective. If you like typical Mediteranean architecture (plain white walls, red tile roofs, etc.) you will like it. If you prefer red brick and ivy, you will be disappointed. The buildings are designed to emphasize the views instead of being the primary focus.

I personally think that it's very beautiful. I loveeee the campus, I actually like the buildings. It's small and the weather is nice!!! And the view is just awesome. It's my dream school but I don't know if it's super hard to get into or nottt =(.
