Is political science a useless major?

What career do you want to have?

obviously.

Don’t listen to above post. He’s just a ■■■■■.

Political science can be a useful degree if you plan to go into any type of government-related work. Lobbying, campaigning, etc.

Doing a double-major in something like poli sci and econ it obviously substantially better. Poli sci and psych is also useful.

If you go to law school or if you want to work in government.
Lobbyists get paid a **** load

It is also helpful if you want to work in social science research or with an advocacy non-profit

Its not a useless major. I am majoring in both Political Science and Economics but may decided to minor in Political Science if I will not be able to complete both degrees upon graduation, or if I feel I need to further my knowledge even more in Economics by taking additional classes beyond the major requirements.

Poli Sci and Economics go hand in hand, especially now with the amount of debt we’re in right now and the reckless spending going on. But even so, either degree will land you a job, provided you do internships and network. People who do not get jobs in Poli Sci, usually did not work hard enough or choose to go into Law instead, although I’d probably major in Philosophy over Poli Sci if I wanted to go to Law School.
