Is Presidential Scholarship deferral possible?

DS is dealing w/ what could be a serious health issue, much depends on him. With school starting in Aug, I am worried about him moving so far away w/ an issue that will not be resolved by then.

He will need to be monitored, which can’t be done w/ his current doctors, so he would need to find one in AL. Also, I worry with him being on his own, in an entirely new situation, no car, no family or friends nearby, if I can depend on him to follow through with his medical care.

Does UA offer a deferral of the Presidential Scholarship? Would medical issues apply if they did?

Yes, they do. You need to contact Mary.spiegel@ua.edu and ask for a delayed enrollment and scholarship. She’s very nice and she’s the one who approves such things.

I think the school would prefer that he “get well” so that he can “hit the ground running” in 2016.
