Is psychology as a science a useful major?

Also how would you rate the difficulty?

Depends on your definition of useful, but it’s generally not considered an especially “practical” major.

Loads and loads of people major in psychology, which can give you an idea of its level of difficulty. It’s definitely not as difficult as the hard science majors, but then again, that is subjective. It’s DEFINITELY not useful as just an undergraduate degree. You NEED to have a Ph.D in Psychology and have research and experience under your belt to get a good paying job.

Most people I know who are psychology majors also major in something else (i.e. finance, economics, business administration, international relations) or are pre-med. Basically, psych to them is an interest major, and that other major or career route is their CAREER major/route. (Not sure if you understood that lol)

If you are really interested in doing psychology as a career (a good, well-paid career), then it is highly recommended that you go on to graduate school.

Psychology as a subject is one of the easier majors (compared to bio, chem, etc), which is why a lot of people major in it and a lot of people double major in psych and ______.
But by no means use that as a reason to choose psychology!

You won’t get a job with an undergraduate degree in Psych.
Do psych and go to med school for psych
do psych and get a PhD
or
do psych and be homeless :D
