Hi,
My daughter got admission to Public Health at SLU. Her intent is to do go to Med school. She is not in Scholars Program. Can you she do Public Health and still be able to finish pre-med course requirements or is too much additional course work to take.
I am currently a pre-med at SLU. I am not in Public Health, but I have a lot of friends who are doing it right now. Honestly, lots of pre-meds decide to go into Public Health at SLU because of the many opportunities they have for research in the field and because it gives an Urban aspect to health care. The pre-med requirements are integrated in the major throughout the first three years, and the coursework would be just as manageable as pretty much any other typical pre-med major (except for BME).
Thanks for your response. We are just back from SLU visit. Most probably she is headed to SLU unless the familiar west coast sways her mind.
