I have some genius friends who take the SAT only once because they score 2300s. I don't think I scored well on this past December SAT. How do colleges view retaking them? I know that Collegeboard says that you can take then however many times you want, but is that really true?

umm, if you check your collegeboard account, the scores should be posted online. You should check out what you got first

Retaking is fine; take it as many times as you want. I went from a 2110 my first time to a 2280 my fourth (and last) time.

Retaking is good. Some colleges will even take your highest scores from each individual section. I know Columbia does. But how many colleges do that?

Almost all colleges will take the best score from each section, although there are some noteworthy exceptions (UCs, WUSTL maybe?)

yeah; many colleges look at the best combined score.

however, I doubt that this means colleges will neglect your best score in one-sitting; that should still be somewhat important.

Aw, shoot, I didn't know UCs didn't! :(

I'm not actually sure, it's just something I have heard here on CC.

Oh, ok.............
