<p>In my (high school), people see it as a '"Bad", "Lame","school for dummies"
but I think most UC's are the same, doesn't really matter which one u go,,
but is the area around the school really that boring??
how's the social life?
are there alot of clubs based on interests?

<p>i think its boring IN MY OPINION because i’ve seen everything around riverside already and i live so close, but for others who’ve never been around riverside might not think is boring.</p>
<p>Alot of people tell me Irvine is boring but when i went there to visit the area, i find it to be tons of fun and interesting ^^.</p>
<p>it all depends on the person and i think if you make alot of friends at UCR, your experience there won’t be boring. Oh yeah, if you’ve never visited UCR, then you should go visit the campus yourself like what AmyHuang said and see how you like it.</p>

<p>Yeah, I agree with bombatwist. Definitely not a lame school for dummies. But yes, the area around UCR is a bit boring because I live close to Riverside as well (about 20 minutes away). It really depends. My friends who dorm take the RTA and explore whenever they have free time, haha. It just depends on what you’re interested in and what you make of it with your friends at UCR. Riverside has a lot of historical places and an arts scene, if you’re into that kind of stuff.</p>
<p>Same with Irvine - people have told me it was boring, but I enjoyed it there when I visited.</p>
