Is Rutgers Hellish?

It's on the list for ugliest campus and least happy students for Princeton Review. Not #1, but still on both. Is it hellish?

Not really. It really depends on where you live. Some campus areas are nicer then others. As for least happy students I wouldn't say Rutgers students are less happy then other schools although everyone has been RUScrewed at least once.

Hellish? Nah, I just transferred in this semester as a sophomore and so far it has been a really nice experience. Everything from orientation to housing has worked out pretty well for me. Rutgers is huge and it is very easy to slip through the cracks, especially in classes with 75+ people, but those are lower level courses.

I don't think the campus is ugly at all. You have the College Ave/NB area which is pr

Rutgers is huge and it is very easy to slip through the cracks, especially in classes with 100+ people, but those are usually just lower level courses. Like any college its what you make of It, I know people who have come here and loved it and those which didn't, in the end it's up to you.

I don't think the campus is ugly at all. You have three totally different campuses, Busch, science labs etc., a lot of open space and fields, Cook/Douglass which is suburban, and College Ave./ Downtown New Brunswick, which is an urban/college town setting.

It's not the most beautiful campus, but it's pleasant. There is a lot of open spacing, especially on Livingston and Busch.

Voorhees Mall (on College Ave) looks pretty decent. I think it is the closest thing to looking like a college campus. And Cook/Douglass defintely has it's pretty moments (sometimes). Other than that, it's a decent campus. But who has time to pay attention to scenary when you're busy trying to catch the next bus to Livingston???? :)

In terms of least happiness??? No. The only kids who are bitter here are probably the ones who didn't want to go to a state school in the first place so they just stay mad and make plans about transferring, hehe :). Other than that, it's hard to be kind of miserable here. There are some great people and many things to do.

The RU screw is out there but if you're lucky, you won't get screwed too badly. For instance, there are a bunch of kids staying in hotels this semester...with shuttle buses running every 40 minutes or so. <---- really bad

Here are the lists from the Princeton Review site.

16 Least Beautiful Campus

10 Professors Get Low Marks

6 Least Accessible Professors

4 Students Dissatisfied with Financial Aid

18 Class Discussions Rare

Look across route 27 bridge at Highland Park. There are many apartments and a nice main street, also on the rutgers bus loop if you don't want to walk across the bridhe to College Ave campus, Specifically, check Highland Montgomery Apts.

It is definitely not hellish. Cook is a beautiful campus and college ave has a very unique feel to it. Livingston can suck, at times, realllly bad. Busch is pretty good too. But if you are looking for small classes, accessible professors, and a campus that you can walk across in fifteen minutes, than Rutgers may not be what your looking for.

Now I understand why people say Livingston suck. I was there for like a 1/2 hour the other day and it felt so freakin' isolated. There is nothing going on over there.
