Haha, yeh, I know. There's supposed to be a lot of snow Fri, and then Mon and Tues, even more snow.

Shut up.

21

ahahahhahaahah

Probably not. The people in Boston are probably really experienced with dealing with snow. Plus, snow shouldn't slow it down anyways, unless it causes a plane to crash or something.

um... this might make my mailman lose it, but it won't slow down their mailing...

when were the results mailed?

I think they're supposed to be mailed on Friday.

oooo.

i probably wont get it on the 15th then =[

a lot of snow??? Really?!?

Neither sleet, nor rain, nor gloom of night??? Whaddya mean delayed?? I think it is possible. My guess is they will leave MIT on time but may be delayed in the transport to out of town kids who are biting their nails while they wait.

Ive checked latest forecasts and it looks like we'll get something a little messy, but no major snowstorm :P

Fear not, they will mail!

Haha, and don't forget that our distinguished Boston weatherpersons were giddy with anticipation Mon night/Tues morn when it was going to snow "FOUR INCHES"... and then it flurried.

wait...i thot on the myMit website they said theyd be sent out monday the 12th..?

Check blogs. They said something like, if all goes well, letters will go out on Friday.

hey... u know what ben should do? mark the envelopes of the kids he thinks are from cc... see how many he can find hahaha, actually that sounds dumb now

yeah, cujoe, it is, sorry :)

Dude. That'd be amazing and funny. But I doubt Ben wants to wade through 3000 apps to do that.

he could do that as he's looking, i mean... haha

If you're admitted and go to CPW, be sure to go to the "Meet the Bloggers" party and introduce yourselves. I saw people at CPW last year with their CC screen names on their nametags...

Snow can indeed foul plans up at MIT.

Two years ago, snow significantly delayed MIT's mailing of EA letters.

They had originally planned to mail out on Fri 12/12, but their website announced that they actually mailed out on 12/15 (and in fact, I know at least one student whose letter was postage-metered 12/17 and got it on 12/19.) MIT told students not to call before Monday 12/22.

If I recall correctly, the problem was that heavy snow had made it impossible for many admissions committee members to reach the MIT campus and Ms. Jones cancelled planned admissions committee meetings, which then delayed the whole process.

I just googled the old archives to find a message about this, which quotes an email sent out to MIT Educational Counselors (ECs) about the delay due to snow in December 2003.
