Is stanford good for Pre-Med?

Since Berkeley may not be a good choice for studying pre-med, how is stanford pre-med like? What is the success rate of getting into medical school through stanford?

Get into Stanford first, then worry about med school admissions.

stanford premed is one of the strongest in the nation, here’s a stat from a letter written by a stanford grad a couple years back:
If you are at Stanford, you are very likely to get into a great school anyway. In a typical year, of the 300 pre-meds or so at Stanford, about 20 will go to UCSF, 20 will go to Stanford, and 5 each will go to Harvard, Yale, and Johns Hopkins.

Maybe you should worry about getting in first.

I am just a little concerned about applying there. That’s why I am asking.

Go for it, but don’t go if you don’t like it when you visit. Nothing will hurt your GPA more than being miserable.

Leave the ■■■■■. He’s asked the same question about Harvard, MIT, etc.

Go home.

So what, now I don’t have a right to ask questions? I just want to know if stanford is worth applying to if you are doing pre-med. I heard that harvard has a 93% success rate for people to go to medical school. I am just curious if stanford has the same.

No stanford sucks. Who would ever go there wanting to be pre-med…

If what you said about the success rate for Harvard College is correct (BTW, I do not know whether this number is actually correct or not as of today, and also, the all important attrition rate is hard to estimate at both schools), Stanford does not have the same success rate. This may imply many things (not necessarily mean that Stanford is worse than Harvard.): 1) California students have to deal with nasty/super-competitive California Medical School admissions, and 2) Possibly too high concentration of premed students (esp. the ORM ones) there; perhaps some of them had better be on other track due to a variety of reasons. (The former is a fact, the latter is just my subjective speculation only.)
