<p>We are "upstate" and haven't really considered Stonybrook but the bio major looks good! Daughter wants a school where kids don't all go home for weekend. Will she be the only one left "come saturday morning"......!</p>

<p>Yes it is. 1/2 go to Stony just for classes then go home. A good portion who dorm go home on weekends (defeats the purpose of dorming…)</p>

<p>My Ds friend who goes there came home every other weekend last year, until about March. He was stuck in a triple and hated it. Two of the kids were local, so they went home often.</p>
<p>Pseudonym, they can be exxaggerated, but how can it be false? A good portion of kids live on long island and they live too close to home which makes it just plain a waste of money to dorm, so they are called “commuters” are they not? Then some others who dorm, but like an hour or two away, go home a lot of weekends. I don’t see how it can be out-of-date…</p>
