Is Syracuse notorious for having a good accounting program?

I want to major in accounting, and I ideally want to go to a school in New York, however I still want to have a “college feeling” campus. i haven’t heard much about the accounting program at Syracuse, so if anyone knows, is it a good school or would I be better off somewhere else? What are the recruiting prospects coming from Syracuse (especially for the Big 4)? Also, what universities would you recommend the most for accounting?

Notorious mean known for something bad.

My son is a freshman in the Whitman/Newhouse dual program. His primary love is Newhouse. He approached business school at the start with a ho hum attitude. However he’s been home on break raving about how fantastic Whitman is. Whitman is rated a top 50 business school and after only one semester he’s saying they deserve that rating. It’s apparent to him that they’re will connected with recruiters and the entire business school is structured based on feedback from employers.

As for accounting specifically, I cannot speak to that. I just know that my son is now considering it.

If you live within striking distance of Syracuse I’d suggest you take a tour of Whitman.

Hello friends!! If anyone of you wants free online consultation regarding studies then I have a great recommendation for you all. My former professor Dr. [Aloke Ghosh](http://www.alokeghosh.com/) provides consultation services for free to students. You know he is also a Member of American Accounting Association.

SU has a pretty good accounting program. A lot of my friends plan to major in accounting. And yes, the big four do recruit from Whitman and I often see them tabling inside the school of management, and they are always listed as participants at career fairs. Other schools you might consider in the city for accounting are CUNY Baruch, Fordham, NYU, and St. Johns. Here’s a link I found, and SU is listed as 11: http://best-accounting-schools.com/new-york
