Is taking a B okay for the top UC's?

Hey,

I will be done with 30 units after this semester, ans I want to transfer to UC Berkeley and UCLA. I also will apply for UCSD,UCI, and some other UCs. I thought I wanted to major in engineering, but the subjects I have to do are hard for me , so I decided to major in accounting ,which I tried to do in the beginning of school. I know most of the UC schools do not even have accounting mjaor. So what Id like to do is majoring in biz-econ, which gives me credits to take the CPA exam. I am currently maintaint 4.0 gpa , but calculus 3 is bugging me. I might end up with one B thos semester. The good thing is that cal 3 is not a pre-req for biz econ, but biz econ is a super competitive major as far as I know. So my question is that one or two Bs are hurting my chances to transfer out to the top UC’s? Or they do not care about it , since it is not a major pre-req?

You’re fine. The only issue may be transferring after only one year. How are your high school grades and standardized testing? Are you in a community college?

Yes, I am currently in a CCC. Do they look at my high school transcript as well? I have not heard about that. I ended up with 3.7 weighted gpa in high school. ( Oh sorry… I did not clairfy when I plan to transfer… I will finish all the 60 transferrable units, then transfer in 2019.) I kind of regret that I did not choose my major as accounting in the beginning…

Oh, then scratch what I said. I thought you were transferring after completing 30 units. In any event, you’ll be fine.
