is taking the SAT three times bad??

no, i heard up to 3 times is okay.
but i also know some people who took it four times and got into really good schools, including uc berkeley. so.. iguess it doesnt matter as much as we think it does

It shouldn't really matter, as long as there is a noticeable improvement each time.

I think if you take it 4 or more times they average your score, so 3 would be fine

I'm taking it 3 times b/c most people say more than 3 is too much and I think they're right but I also want to get the highest score possible.

nothing will affect if you take it 3 times or 10 times - - Uc said to me that they wil take a look on your best score. but some school just take a look at one seat of test. so don't worry take it any time and many times you want. it does not mattter

you must really like that test.

I am also wondering about this (see another thread that I initiated in "College Admissions").

So if it doesn't really matter how many times you take the test, why did some people decide to cancel their test when they feel they didn't do well enough? Isn't it better to just know your scores?

no it is just like this, sometimes if it is too low it will affect the way the college see you. so if you feel better to cancel just cancel, but good suggestiion will say that no matter how you feel you have to see the result!

who told you they average you scores after 4 - never heard of it - better bring strong support before you say anything crazy like that
