Is the junior PSAT score a accurate indicator of one's junior SAT?

For me, it was. My October SAT score - 2150. PSAT - 215. Go figure. The individual sections’ scores were mixed around a tad, but they were the same.

Hopefully, my ACT will be higher… we’ll see.

I got a 207 on the October 2009 PSAT and then a 2090 on the SAT in October or November 2009 (can’t remember).

199 on the psat
then took the sat 2 months later 2280.

My son got a 211 PSAT and took the SAT a with a couple of months with no prep just to see what it was like and got 2,000.

wlpc1919,

Nice improvement. Would you care to share if you prepared for PSAT and and how you prepared for the SAT?

Thanks

Absolutely not!
junior psat: 1830
junior sat: 2140
(worked really really hard for the score =) )

Fairly accurage for me: 238 –> 2390

It was pretty accurate. 233–>2340

Not for me.
Junior PSAT 155 (horrible, i know) -> January SAT 1750
that’s 200 points!

My S got exact same score (Oct PSAT, Jan SAT).

Really? That’s a little strange.

My daughter scored 217 on the 10/09 PSAT and 2210 on the 1/10 SAT. My son scored 224 on the PSAT and 2360 on the SAT. Friends noted a similar set of outcomes. The trend is to see a higher score on the SAT, by 50-100 points or so.

My son took both the SATs and the PSATs last October. The SAT was actually 4 days BEFORE the PSAT. He scored 150 points higher on the SATs than on the PSATs.

I think because the PSAT is shorter, small mistakes can have a bigger effect on your scores. Who knows? Maybe he was just burned out from the SATs. Either way, he did much better on the test that meant the most (although NM money would have be nice, and he’s borderline for that in our state).

Pretty much accurate for me. 231 on the PSAT, 2300 on the January SAT.

Jr psat 201
jr sat 2290

Very accurate for me. My junior year SAT was only ten points apart from -lower than- my junior year PSAT score.

Psat = 214
sat = 2280

i got a 196 on my PSAT and a 2230 on my SAT so… i guess it just depends on the person?

I got a 230 on the PSAT and 2340 on the SAT, so it was pretty accurate for me.

OP here: the results turned out to be fine: CR 660, M 800, W 750 Total: 2210. 250 higher than my 196 PSAT. I feel kinda relieved but definitely will retake in June.
