Is the May SAT Curve Easy?

Critical reading was insane. That was the hardest I have ever taken. I seriously don’t think I will break 600 and I got a 700+ in March.

CR was hard - ambiguous/unclear from passage, and wierd vocab (mawkishness???)
W prompt was easy, section wasn’t that hard either.
M wasn’t bad, except for the 2 questions about a(x-h)+k and the one after it about volume and surface area of a cube

Math was easy, but I’m not going to break an 800 because of a few silly mistakes on coffee and 1/(n+1) x|

Any curve predictions?

@yankee, isn’t -2 800 the norm? I would hope that this is a super lenient curve.

i thought math was sooo easy, I should definitely be breaking 700.
Writing was pretty easy, some tricks; still should be able to break 700.
and reading was HARD. Aside from the fact that i suck at CR, the vocab was pretty difficult too. ugh, i want to break a 600 on CR, but idt it’s possible ):

My thoughts:

Math-medium
800 -0
790 -1
750 -2
730 -3
710 -4
700 -5
CR- medium
800 -0
800 -1
800 -2
790 -3
770 -4
750 -5
Writing- harsh curve?
800 -0
760 -1
730 -2
710 -3
690 -4
680 -5

Sorry a minus 5 is never going to bring you down 120 points. Maybe a -5 with a really poor essay, but out of every previous sat practice test I took, - 5 is generally around the 700 - 720 range in writing…with a good essay

score report from my sister’s SAT-

math

12 wrong
2 omitted
40 correct

got her a 600

Im confused about the writing - are all of these stats with the essay, or not…because I know a bunch of people who got -5 on the march sat on the writing and they all got 700+. They had essays

Go to 1/09 on http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf</a> for the writing section. One does not just make things up. In addition, I believe the curves here are with the 12 essay. If I’m wrong, then I stand corrected.

I am with dvdhsu on this.

CR- one of easier ones
Math- THE hardest SAT math I saw

I thought CR was pretty hard. Vocab was very easy, some passages were okay, some were absolutely insane though (cave painting on). So yeah. average/hard curve
Math was pretty easy. Just a few really difficult questions. Average curve?
I thought writing was hard… It was much harder than January’s anyway. Probably an average curve.

januarys curve was brutal

hey guys how can you average in a certain amount of omits with the curve?? like for example -8 on CR plus 5 omits, how does that work?

Am I the only one who thinks that this was the hardest SAT that they have taken…?

I took about 5 or 6 practice tests and the March SAT.

Thought the writing section was average, critical reading was rather easy, and math was hard! Definetly the hardest math section I have expereienced!

Why does everyone think math was so hard… almost all the questions were pretty easy. Except for a number 20 or number 8 here and there. Critical reading was definitely the hardest out of all the sections but still do able, the cave painting passage wasn’t THAT bad and i usually do terrible on CR. Writing was just medium

^ Why do you think Critical Reading was so hard? Every question was pretty easy…

The cave painting passage was just annoying, the vocab on the harder questions was really hard, and i was really short on time so i had to speed through the passages. I’m expecting no less then a 600 or 650 though
