Is the mistake too grand?

So basically sophomore year I was pushed by my peers to take AP CHEM, which I wasn’t ready for, I ended up dropping it after 1st semester, I’ve dropped it. That along with switching to regular algebra2. However I’m also in APUSH, and am doing quite well, I can’t have an A first semester though because all my time went to APChem. To make matters worse, my physics teacher have me a C, for a reason I don’t understand! I have myself in a real pickle right now, seeing as even if I get a 4.0 this semester, I’m still stuck at a 3.2 overall. I have great EC’S tho, and am taking classes that are hard but I can handle next year, 2 AP, and 1 IB. I was wondering if this first semester of soph year has ended any possibility of getting to MSU. My current ACT is a 32, and I’m sure I can get a 34. So please, any and all guidance would be phenomenal right now. If I did really well these next few years, and applied ED, would I have a chance? Thanks

Oo, in also summer schooling first semester of alg2 in hopes of getting an A since I’ve already leaned it.

People please? Just anything, tips or advice would be much appreciated. I just need some information, anything at all

The colleges will only see your final grade for each subject on your final transcript. So all you need to do is pull up your grades for each semester/marking period/however often you get your report card, so your final average will be good. Also, I wouldn’t worry about it so much since it was from sophomore year and a huge emphasis is put on junior year so as long as you are continuing to do better and there is an upward trend in your grades, I’m sure you still gave a great chance!

@littlet4lks‌ thanks so much! It’s cool to hear that I still have a chance at getting there!

Just gonna give this a little bump, in hopes of some advice

Don’t beat yourself over dropping a course. I believe in trusting what you think is best for yourself in the long run. In my school, I dropped two AP courses one semester because I simply decided the course wasn’t doable. The teaching was not really that great, and there was so much homework that there wouldn’t be time to learn the material.

So I dropped them. And I am so glad I did. Not only did it ruin the GPA’s of countless students (those two courses would cause a bunch of my friends to not qualify for scholarships), but not a single student passed their AP exam. Some of these kids were true geniuses too. The courses just weren’t that good at my school for those AP’s.

Remember, a mistake is only a mistake if you don’t learn from it. And you can never fail, if you never give up. The moment you give up is the moment you fail. There is always a way to get where you want to be.
