Is the PR's "Cracking the ACT" 2008 edition still good to use?

Hello all,

I have searched for an answer to my question, but I couldn’t find any on this website. So here it is: I have a 2008 edition of PR’s “Cracking the ACT” and was wondering if that book is still good to use. Like what I would like to know is if the material in it still applies to today’s ACT. I’ve compared the practice tests in the 2008 edition with my “REAL Act prep guide” and the reading portion in the 2008 edition seems a lot easier.

Does the ACT’s difficulty increase every year? If so, then I think I need to get myself one of the newer editions of the “Cracking the ACT’s”.

Thanks everyone

Yes. The ACT hasn’t changed significantly in the past ten years. Only the reading section is a bit different with the dual passages. Also, the writing section has changed slightly.
The 2008 book is still good.

Use the 2008 version for some early practice tests, use the official (new) and more up to date books for later study.

Yes the ACT hasn’t changed since 2008. So that book is still viable, but I would recommend up-to-date versions since the earlier versions of ACT preparation aren’t as experienced as the latest books.
