Is the University of Washington a party school?

Hi guys,

           So I am planning to transfer to University of Washington. I have to take the student day to day life into account. The question from me is University of Washington a Party School?

If you want to find parties, I’m sure you could. I don’t think it is a huge party school though. Not like other schools.

Not necessarily what you would call a “party school” like maybe Chico or UCSB. Although there are a bunch of frats and sororities right across the street and I’m sure there’s something going on over there almost all the time.

The Greeks and certain dorms can do pretty good…

As with all places where young people gather, you an find a party or two most weekend nights. However, UW is a pretty serious academic school, partying is rather limited compared to many other locations.

UW is a serious institute of education. As many people here can attest to, it is one of the most difficult non-Ivy league public schools to get into. Now, WSU on the other hand is where people go to get 4 year degrees in alcoholism.

I used to party at the UW all the time. Join a frat.

You can party there, but it is NOT a party school in the typical sense.

There is a state law that no bars can be located near campus–1 mile I think. Thus students have to go farther away and get mixed ion with all the locals so you dont get that same feel like more self-contained college towns.
